Shelly was once an orphan on Khufu, but one day, a genie named Yasmin took her to the Genie Realm, using her magic to turn Shelly into one to allow her inside.  During the next three milennia, Shelly lived in the Genie Realm, learning how to use her magic under Yasmin's guidance.  One day, she wished to see the mortal world, so Yasmin gave her a talisman that allowed her travel between the Genie Realm and the mortal world.
