Chapter 15: The Teleporter

Ten years later...

Astro lived in the asteroid lab with his creator Archibald. He had walked around the whole laboratory helping his creator with experiments. But things to him weren't happy. He was cooped up inside an asteroid laboratory all of the time. He wanted to get outside and have an adventure. He wanted to visit an exotic planet like Alterra and find out what life was there. He wanted friends. The laboratory didn't have any of that.

Astro remembered something his dad had been working on. It was a teleporter in the deepest part of the lab. It could transport anyone or anything anywhere. But since there were a few problems with it, it could only send things one way. He saw it as a way of going on an adventure.

One night, when Archibald went to his lab to record notes of an experiment, Astro snuck to the deepest part of the lab to where the teleporter was. After browsing the list of destinations it could send things to. One of the destinations read "Archibald's lab, Velbus".

"Velbus?" Astro wondered. Wondering what Velbus was like, he programmed the teleporter to take him there and pressed the button. He left the lab in a flash.

Astro wound up inside of an old laboratory. The lab was dark and rustic though some of the equipment inside still worked. It had a table and workbench, and a few computers. The lab wasn't incredibly big, and Astro could see a door. He pressed a button and the door opened. Upon leaving the lab, Astro saw giant trees at least 300 feet tall and 30 feet in diameter all over the place. Some light shone throught the trees, but Astro couldn't see anything above the canopy. "I'd better fly up there." he said. 2 gold wings deployed from his back mounted engines and after activating his engines, he flew up until he was above the shade of the trees.

After flying above the trees, Astro beheld his surroundings. The entire face of the planet was covered with the trees he had just seen, and there were also a few solitary mountains sticking up from place to place. Looking towards the sky, Astro saw a giant silver spindle with disks protruding from it. Always being curious and adventurous, Astro said "I think I'll look there next and see what it is."
