This small ball of fluff hasn't been changed much for years. so I thought that it was time for a redesign. Looking back on Kal's (aka Fleet) old references hurt me.
Fun Fact: The one on the left wasn't his first design. For that, picture a sonic with darker fur with the same eye color of the old design. I changed it a week or so later. Anything after that were small color tweaks. He's also my oldest character that isn't a sona.
I listed changes wanted before the sketch. These included:
-Being aged up 5 years (now 15)
-Main fur color being a shade of orange
-A jacket instead of gloves
-longer tail
-Toned down fluff
-Looking more like a hybrid (He's a cross between a wolf and a long-eared hedgehog. It caused him to be a runt who's completely color blind)

Honestly didn't expect the shift to be that big, but I'm really happy about it.
In the case with the hands, he's from an au based around sonic unleashed. He's from a family that protects the dark gaia from harm. The exposure led to him developing traits similar to nightmares from the game (namely his eyes and limbs). It was the same reasoning for the blue fur, but now the tan doesn't work in hindsight.

You improved a lot on the design! It makes Kal stand out more from the other Sonic OCs. Though I kind of am curious about his hand(s) there. They go to a gradient green kind of looking like a tree branch so I kind of am wondering what's going on there.
Either way great improvement!
