yep....what you see here will be prancing around at this coming Cali Fur 9!
This will be my first time attempting something like this...so I'm scared as fuck I'm gonna fuck something up T,T...BUT there's always time for improvement, yes? I hope to have it close to this idea at least xD
Not rly focussed on rishing with purchasing a top hat right now, I can always get one later, but I am currently waiting on the dog tag in the mail! THEN off to some thrift stores for some canes and maybe if I can find some, some decent looking dress shoes. I have a nice blazer vest in my closet that I've hardly ever worn since I first got it. Maybe to a couple friend's proms I think?
I will be attaching a velcro strap under the top hat once I purchase one, that way it's easy and convenient to keep the hat on and won't be falling off. The feather boa string for his tail will be wrapped around some thin wire and will be inserted to the surface of the tail. His tongue and mouth insides will be made from felt and teeth from sculpey clay. Have yet to figure out what I want his eyes to be made from. The fleece colours will be purchased from Wal-Mart since their fleece is the cheapest I can afford right now :/
I'll only be making his head and tail, going to ask a friend if she can help me with his hands when I see her.
I'LL BE SHOPPING FOR THE MATERIALS NEXT WEEK! <33333333333 SO EXCITED 8D The base will be made from the standard balaclava style btw and will have a moving jaw, if I can get it right.

Haha yes I am super excited to get started on him c: For the hat, I might not use the velcro straps, I'm not too sure as of this moment, but I have time to look things up if needed, dunno if I'm going to be getting the hat right away anyways. I might be asking some people around on tips for the eyes and such since I wanna try and keep his face to the "proper" velociraptor shape as possible. If not, I'll have enough time and materials to figure something out, thanks for the tips though!

I haven't seen many dinosuar fursuits, and that's a shame because I love dinos. If I happen to see anything I'll be sure to send them to you to help. :)

Those movies are my all time favorites for dino movies! I can never pick a favorite! I only got to read the first book but I've been looking for the others. I heard a few years ago that they were hoping to make a fourth one and with them making the first one into 3D I bet they're reintroducing it so the fourth one will be even more popular. I really hope they do make it! Movies like that can get repetitive but so far they've managed to make original enough stories that are still a part of the series. :D

The velcro might not be strong enough to hold it on if you tilt your head too far. Top hats can be kind of heavey. Also if you take the top hat off the velcro might show, though I don't know if that is a concern. I wish I had some other suggestions but I figured I might as well point that out in case you had a backup. I mean, it could work, but I doubt it would be very effective.
As for the character it really looks awesome! :D If you're planning to see through the eyes there's lots of different matierials you can use for that. For a raptor the eyes are mostly on the side of the head so you could also add some space so you can see directly out the front. There's lots of different ways to do these things. I'm no expert though. X'D
