Dean Winchester

sugarpoultry

I <3 Jensen Ackles/Dean Winchester. OMG so much!!!

My only regret is that I started this on an incredibly small canvas. : So you can't zoom very much. Oh well.

All hand painted, references used, just like these: https://www.weasyl.com/submission/27264 https://www.weasyl.com/submission/27267

Looks good, humans are definitely your strength ^_^

It's so refreshing to hear that! I'm trying to move onto more styles besides anthro and werewolves. XD Thank you so much!

An artist should attempt different styles/things to draw. It's good to see you have a feel for what matters ^_^

With that being said, you are welcome ;D

I really like the shine in his eyes and the textures you've used. :D Looks fab.

Yay for Supernatural fans. :) Truly a beautiful portrait of Jensen; captures the intensity and tension that's so often in the character very well ... and the stunning eyes, of course. Extraordinary.

Thank you! Yah I just barely started watching the series. I've been burning through them all fast on Netflix. Just started season 6, can't get enough of this show, or Dean's character. :D

I'm a recent convert, too. Flew through them on Netflix late this summer; couldn't stand it and bought season 7 via Amazon online (since Netflix didn't have it yet), and am now enjoying the very cool season 8 as it airs. It's AGONY having to wait each week. I confess I'm probably the biggest fan of the angel, Castiel, with Dean rolling in second. ;-) I don't turn into a rabid fangrrl over much, but this series seems to be a trigger! >_>

I love Castiel too! XD He's my favorite.

          • Link

*laughs* Cas fans rule. :) I'm ready to go back and re-watch chunks of seasons 4-6 now; Cas at his best in some ways in these. Have you hit "The French Mistake" yet? ;-)

            • Link

No not yet. XD Though I am really inspired to draw Castiel for one of my next realism portraits. :)

I vote yes! *cough* With or without wings? ;-)

Oh, and may I have permission to post a link to the Dean portrait over on my spn-focused tumblr? (Which makes it sound like I know what I'm doing ... I don't! I just started tinkering with tumblr since it seems lots of the spn-fandom is over there.) No one really follows me yet -- but maybe someone will accidentally notice it via tags and come to find you and offer love. And encouragement to do more fanart. But I wouldn't want to share without permission, even with direct links back to you and clear labeling.

Or better yet ... I don't suppose you already have this on tumblr? :)

              • Link

Bah, no way to delete comments. Found you on Tumblr thanks to your DA. Reblogged! Sorry for the comment mess...

Haha yep XD its on there. Thanks for the Reblog!

            • Link

Okay, I just got the The French Mistake. LOLOLOL!!!! XD

              • Link

Yeah. That seems to be a favorite for everyone, even the actors. I love how the series tinkers around with all the fannish tropes -- fan writing, fan conventions, and this one takes that classic "actors and real/fictional characters swap places" notion that's been done in EVERY media fandom at some point. Hysterically funny. And left me wondering "is that Jared's real house??!" (Answer seems to be "no.")

You're moving right along in the season! I've so got to go back and re-watch...

                • Link

Yeah I don't think actors houses are that self-centered. :P Was funny though. Makes me wonder about them "not talking to each other" if at one point during the show they got into a real life fight and were still forced to work with each other, and they made fun of it on that episode?

The best part for me was when they saw the multiple impala's and Dean's like, "I'm gonna be sick..." haha I lost it!

                  • Link

Yes! And trying to drive the dirty one anyway. "C'mon, Baby..." Poor Dean.

I did a little interweb reading about the episode out of curiosity. Apparently the not talking is actually a reference to the fact that the boys are HUGE friends in real life (and thus dangerous jokesters on set together, too). When you get caught up with the series, I highly recommend heading over to YouTube to see some of the panels they've done at ComicCon and the various Supernatural conventions. It's amazing what they get up to! Good for some laughs. But horribly spoilery, so avoid until you're ready for more and lacking proper episodes. Like me ...

I've watched a few interviews and stuff, some of them making fun of like Sam's long hair XD But yah.

I really, really love this. Just getting to this site - my only real interest in this site was piqued this morning when I came across this work of yours. The colors and the facial expression - everything is perfect. I am a huge Supernatural fan - and this, UGH, I love it. I think one of the /best/ things about it is the lips, actually. They look perfect. Which is great, because so many people - myself included - have trouble with lips on men, and I think that you not only made it look good but it looks good WITH the character. They are Dean lips. :D Hopefully that doesn't sound odd. So, here's to my first comment on Weasyl - and I hope to see more Supernatural portraits from you. Keep up the great work!

Wow thank you very much! I'm honored I'm your first comment. XD I hope to draw a few more pieces. My next is of Castiel, hopefully. :)

Your very welcome! I am surprised to have such a fast reply!! I will wait patiently to see the piece of Castiel. :D I have some portraits of Misha Collins I have done myself. He is very interesting to draw - especially the shape of his eyes, and the shape of his jaw. Very unique. Have fun! I'll definitaly favorite and reply once you upload. <3
