With his goggles off (they are sunglasses he wears on land, in the water he doesn't need them) Jeff shows himself above water so gravity can help him swallow a young striped dolphin. The little dolphin was causing trouble, but after a stay in Jeff's long stomach he won't cause any more.

The resurrection effect of the Friendly Beach only applies to humans and other intelligent land dwellers. (And maybe to Jeff as a hybrid, he hasn't had occasion to find out.) Also like Tame Camp, the animals have a truce at the beach and police themselves so they won't lose a good thing. There are even a couple of orcas who are the ultimate enforcers when larger sea mammals cause problems.

But some do escape the notice of their fellow animals, and from time to time Jeff swims back to shore oddly bulged around a smallish dolphin,shark, seal, sea lion or sea otter. Good thing he gets plenty of exercise between swimming around and all that sex. There's a lot of calories in a dolphin.
