This is a slight SLIGHTLY older image, I drew it and in the end I wasn't too overly proud of it. I mean it's an adorable image but I felt like I should have done so much more with this.

I sort of always say the story in my head (this is not cannon for either character) of this being that the little butterfly is the only daughter of a semi wealthy parents, she was VERY sheltered to try and of course protect her, but when she became the age to marry her parents agreed to let her start going on small walks around her home village. With a VERY large bodyguard of course.

Being of a wealthy family she was educated with the skills to read, and to write, to paint, but being sheltered she had never really seen many other people ( Ie Her parents really only kept the company of other butterflies and moths YEAH it's racist) but on a walk with her bodyguard she say this mantis telling story's and tales to the children. over the period of a week or so she kept hearing his tales until one day she decided to wait until all the children had gone home, she walked up to him and politely thanked him for his story giving him some money for his time,(only knowing this sort of 'custom' because of her bodyguard) but excitement got the better of her when he was very polite back to her, grabbing his face she was AMAZED with hos he looked. Even her feelers going to touch his face.

Her excitement sort of scared him (hence his upper arms, the blades being up right) Yeah thats how this image came to be XD
