Shaman Stomak by Stomak

Shaman Stomak

Stomak

So an interesting story about the name "Stomak." Back when I still played World of Warcraft, I had originally played in Vanilla WoW as a Night Elf Hunter, and played mostly PvP at level 60. However, at the time, Alliance sucked really really bad at PvP and I was frustrated with the Alliance. My friend played as Horde, and convinced me to roll a new character with him on a new server as Horde. I decided to play as an Orc Shaman and I named him Stomak because I thought Stomak was a cool sounding name for an Orc, and when I hit level 60, I did a lot of raiding during vanilla WoW. When Burning Crusade came out, I had grown frustrated of being forced to heal through so many raids and I was sick and tired of healing and/or being a class dependent on other people and wanted to become independent and solo again like I was on my Hunter, so I rolled a Blood Elf Hunter. Shortly before I quit WoW during Burning Crusade, I had told myself that I'll never play my shaman again, and sold all his gear and nearly deleted him. I had already played other various alts and sold their gear and deleted them, including a level 60 warrior who I had since Vanilla WoW. But something urged me to keep my shaman, so I did. He was the only character of mine to have survived since the very beginning of WoW, as I deleted all my other characters.

During the start of Wrath of the Lich King, I focused on my Hunter, but as time went on, I had a strong urge to revive my Shaman and play him again. So I bought shit gear for him through the auction house and struggled to survive long enough to get better gear, but by the end of wrath of the lich king, I had surpassed my Hunter in terms of gear and progression. Then in Cataclysm, I played him quite a lot. Throughout the years, of playing new classes, more and more alts, thinking "this is my new main," over the course of multiple expansions, no matter what, I always went back to my Shaman. There was something about him that I just really liked, his unique original name that no one else had, even across all servers (at the time anyway), and how he stood the test of time between multiple delete attempts and other various new alts and new main characters.

When I decided to join the furry fandom, I had to think of a name for my new fursona. The only one I could think of, where it was a completely original name, whose name had stuck with me for over 5 years, was Stomak, and so I had chosen the name Stomak. One day, when I was trying to make an Xbox Live account, I wanted my gamertag to be "Stomak" but Stomak was already taken and it gave me a list of alternatives, one of them was SolidStomak. I loved the gamertag so much because it really felt representative of Stomak standing up to the test of time and surviving all those years despite so many new characters. So I started using SolidStomak on any other website in where Stomak was already taken.

So, in order to honor the true origins of "Stomak," and to pay tribute to my favorite WoW class, I decided to get Stomak drawn as a shaman. I think I'll even get more art of Stomak drawn as a shaman in the future. Stomak started out as an Elemental Shaman and spent most of his time as such, did restoration for a while, and more recently as an enhancement shaman. I've always seen him more of as an elemental shaman, because thats how his origins started and how I spent most of the time playing him as.

Anyways, thanks for reading this entire lengthy description, for those of you that bored to listen to why I have the name Stomak and where his origins come from xD

Nah, I think it was a bit interesting, actually. It really gives meaning to the name.
