oh god why am I posting this

stokerbramwell

So this is one of the first pictures of Stoker ever drawn. By me. When I was in high school.

I was forced to post this because jonas's stream hit a certain incentive. The jerk.

so ooooooooooooooold...

Man I actually looked way nerdier than this in high school IRL. If anything I toned the nerdiness down considerably.

Awwww, so cute! You should draw more of him.

I commend thee for thine bravery. I can'y post my old art... Ever. Looks good though.

The sad thing is that I think I might actually have been better back then than I am now...

    Ah man, that 'tude.

Ready for his Dreamworks glamor shot?

Much respect to you for posting old, embarrassing artwork! But truly, everybody has to start somewhere. Hey, maybe we'll see this image again someday in a "Draw it again" meme if you care to post it ;D

I need to be drawing more period, to be honest! I get so frustrated so quickly with how slowly my art skills progress that I really haven't gotten much further than this level in the last decade. :/

You're slow? I've been drawing for 30 years and I'm still no better than fair-to-mediocre! But I'd say you're like everybody else: you just need to practice, n'est ce pas? Like, set aside a little time every week to just sit down and DRAW SOMETHING :D

        • Link

I suppose that's true! Practice is what it all boils down to in the end, isn't it?

          • Link

Mostly! I believe the magic formula is 10% inspiration, 90% perspiration ;)

    so cuuuuute!

That's not embarassing at all <3 I think it's adorable!

    Cute, man.

That's better than I can draw!

Stoker must do more arts! MOAR ARTS!

I do believe we have never met before. However I want to say keep on drawing and practice more (overused advice I know). My old early high school drawings used to be like this, However I got so much better due to drawing a lot and also drawing from life around me much as possible. Also, try and understand what's under the surface drawing. It's not all about what it look like, but how it works from inside out of the 3-D forms. I have been practicing drawing bat wings couple times and now getting better at it.

Good advice, all! I really need to get back to practicing and drawing from life. That really IS the only way to improve.
