An Araltian Adventure - Mawie

Stampy

"Hey, careful up there!"

Mawie stepped back nervously as the big blue toes well over twice her height shifted and rose into the air, narrowly avoiding a trio of cars rolling down from above and crashing in tiny heaps in front of her. It was always nerve-wracking being around Vapour when the amphibious giantess was at her true size, but the weird and alien environment really made things so much worse. Mawie's heavy boots gripped easily on the thick rubbery canyon floor, but there were enough chunks of dirt and rubble that the Mawile sometimes found herself starting to slide for a moment before her footwear caught again and stabilized her standing. She had enough trouble trying to get buildings and offices to hold up her weight when they were fully intact, standing level with her shoulders. When they were just crushed and ruined heaps like this, she might as well have been walking on flimsy buses or trains!

"I'm being careful, calm down! It's hard climbing about like this, I'm not used to having to get atop things half my height, y'know!"

"I know, I know... But I'm not even big enough to climb these weird canyons at all! I'm very much relying on you to get us out of this mess."

Vapour smirked down at her friend as she hefted herself up atop the high walls with a grunt. She made sure to keep the chunk of city in her palm roughly level, only losing a dozen little unidentifiable specks of civilization down into the canyon below. "You're the one who's got issues with being careful. I bet it's that big maw of yours throwing off your center of gravity."

"Can we not talk about gravity?" Mawie looked about. She was absolutely certain she could see slight warpings and sways in the canyon walls, as if they were moving about. It almost seemed organic, in a very impossible and frightening way... "I'm really having trouble telling what way is up. If I didn't know better, I'd think it was shifting about!"

"It DOES feel like we're moving, but until I get up here and get a better view, there's not much chance of-"

"... Vapour? Vapour? Oh come on, don't paws in the middle of a sentence like that, you're making me nervous! Vapour? What do you see?"
