Madotsuki from Yume Nikki ("Dream Diary"). it’s one of my all time favourite games.
I’m not even kidding that Yume Nikki resonated with me a lot when I first discovered it. Being a depressed shut-in with irregular sleeping patterns and vivid dreams, it felt so familiar.
The game is minimalistic and outsider art-ish which adds to its peculiar charm. The combination of expansive exploration mechanic and ambient soundscape is impeccable. Nothing can replicate the wonder I felt when I played the game for the first time. It could get pretty dark and unsettling too and make falling asleep at night harder, but still. It inspired me for a good while, fueling my brain with strange, surreal ideas.
Thank you for letting me explore your dreams, Madotsuki.

I've never played this game. Somehow. I've always liked the art direction and characters, and Madotsuki is so cute. I love the overall feeling of this, and I think all of us can relate to her in this image haha.
