(Keep in mind the creature here is a Swifthorn version of the parasite not a Parite mentioned in the write up)

Writing really quick and sloppy GO

(Warning there are devious sexual things touched on here)

The original shifter parasite cluster was as a project by the Parite to create a race of creatures to test the possibility of 'living armor'. To develop something that could withstand much force and communicate with the creators in order to carry out tasks that were much too dangerous for the Parite themselves to do on their home planet. The basics of the parasite allow it to take and hold the shape of it's host mother as an illusion throughout life, with at the same time being entirely made of a malleable material. The first test creatures were formed in the womb of select female animals in the Parite's world. Though the first few tests caused the host animals rather gruesome deaths; the parasite children survived and surpassed their expectations with their abilities. The first batches of parasites born were also unable to breed and most of the Parite were perfectly fine with that; until the project was taken under control by another group wishing to make this creature able to breed freely. The parasites were loyal so far; they were not abused except for the tests that were performed on them they had no reason to be unhappy as lab life was all they knew. They were simple minded but the new group wanted something more intelligent something more on their level of reasoning. After extensive work the new parasite cluster was created and ready to be tested. A female Parite working on the project stepped up to be the first host mother; which, although it took everyone by surprise, they did not turn down this opportunity to test just how good of a copy the parasite could make. The test went smoothly at least the birth process did; the parasite created was indeed intelligent it could function near the level of a normal Parite, but it had a very feral side that was nearly uncontrollable. The actions of the parasite child startled the researchers and it's project was dropped until they came up with an alternative. The parasite child was still under surveillance and care by it's host mother which is where things started to fall apart. The parasite child when it reached a certain age become increasingly violent and feral protesting all who attempted to calm and befriend it. It escaped and caused quite a bit of havoc. The shifter parasite was given the ability to breed and breed it did; for many years this creature assaulted it's victims causing the birth of more of it's kind. Most taking the form of the Parite.

The parasites evolved and expanded over time eventually going against the Parite race itself which is.. a bit of a problem for the poor Parite if what you are fighting looks nearly just like you; it was hard to know what your enemy was. The Parite were overwhelmed the battle resulting in most of the Parite race fleeing the planet; though of course there was a stowaway bringing a loan parasite on board to the home planet of the Swifthorn.

It's been many years since the incident but reports of the parasite in Laynair still occur.

The parasite itself has a mouth on it's stomach that it feeds from. It is viciously strong and the material it is made out of is very tough and hard to puncture. It is able to tighten itself; expand and retract bending into shapes impossible for it's host creature. It has a high intelligence but is quick to anger which doesn't help it to fit in with society. It feeds on whatever it can bring down and breeds with most of the twelve main Lanian races; taking the shape of whatever it's host mother's race is.
