Painterly Dimetrodon

...With several interesting speculative reconstruction traits... :D Here, this Dimetrodon limbatus is thick and muscular and displays several strong mammalian traits while remaining quite reptilian--the legs can be straightened for upright runs, but stay sprawled when moving slowly or resting to conserve energy; the snout is developing an extra fleshy region that retains moisture to enhance the sense of smell; the teeth are obviously different sizes and on their way to being the full mammalian "incisor-canine-molar" arrangement; an external ear has not yet developed, but various whisker-like integument protrusions have evolved to help both with scent and detecting vibration in the ground, air, and the water. Also, you may note that the "sail" is not a sail here... this is the interpretation that Dimetrodon and other sailed stem mammals did not have a sail of skin stretched between the vertebral spines, but that the lower, thicker part of the spines supported a tall hump for storing fat and anchoring muscles for the neck, tail, and limbs--the top region of the spines was covered only with skin and a hard horn-like material, making the spines a passive defense or even a tool of competitive battles within the Dimetrodon species.

And I used strictly the painting stroke brush for the colors, with a few light strokes of the lead pencil one for the whiskery things. :D I like how chunky and kinda huggable they look... like a big badger! (PSA: Do not run up and hug wild Dimetrodon... or badgers. XD)
