It is Futile

Spicy-Porcupine-Art

A continuation from the last Fading Fury piece.

With the knowledge that Dasora had discovered from her encounter with Eilliu, Zorah set out to find the fiend in hopes to have Dasacht break through long enough to separate them to either get Dasacht back, or give him the peaceful rest he deserved. She found herself in Stormheim upon whispers of a Demonic Warrior spreading ruin in it’s path. When she had found him, he was alone, making his way towards the Gates of Valor. Stealthily she stalked after him, and as she was about to draw an arrow, he had turned on her, hoisting her in the air. The lifeforce being drained from her body by his Hellish blade.

“Did you honestly think that you could sneak up on me? I sensed your approach from miles away!”

She struggled to breathe, tears filling her eyes at the lack of air, whatever foul magic his blade had, it was strong, and it was killing her. As fast as the magic had lashed out to snare her, it vanished, dropping her to the ground with a thud, air flooding her lungs, leaving her gasping and coughing. her vision danced, but she saw the Demon approach. She looked up just as he knelt before her, taking up her chin to have her to look into his eyes. There was a sadistic smile on his face.

“Did you miss this?” he asked “the gentle caresses that fool often gave?” he started to laugh “I bet you wanted to break through to him, to share a final moment together…” he released her jaw and let her fall forward into the dirt, “well my dear, it is futile, because he is gone and he is never coming back,” he stood and sheathed his blade onto his back and turned away, continuing onto his path, leaving Zorah on the ground.

She began to heave as tears spilled from her eyes, she laid on the ground crumpled and unable to move. she just laid there, crying into the dirt, her body wracked with pain. Perhaps it was futile, perhaps what Eilliu claimed about Dasacht being gone was true, and this has been all for naught.
