Project WiP #3

Sparkyopteryx

What I was able to get done during my Sunday-Monday weekend. At this point I thought I would be questioning my life choices but honestly? As long as I take frequent breaks to try to save my hand, I could get used to this.

Apologies for horrendous photo quality. Ink on smooth bristol doesn’t get along with glare.

I can't even imagine doing stipling like that.

A year or so ago, I wouldn't have imagined it either! I got a taste of it during Inktober and just got this wild hair to do a big project in it and now...

I have to say, this technique is unmatched as far as handling very subtle textures and gradients.

Oh man this stippling is aces.

Thank you! Definitely a labor of...something. Possibly love, but I'm thinking more stubbornness than anything.

Trust me folks it looks freakin' amazing in person.

    Impressive :o

Oh god, stippling KILLS my hands. But it looks so neat as a texture. Nice work so far!

Same here. Unlike how I normally ink and color where I could work for a few hours on end (not that I should, but I can) without a break, I must rest my hands frequently when doing this. I love this technique but it's absolutely imperative I don't get impatient with it. Thank you!
