Sparkyopteryx

She looks happy to see you! Although, I'm not sure whether that's a good thing or not...

A Hallowe'en themed ballpoint PWYW commission for sarineochaos over on FA (if you're out there and have a Weasyl as well I can update it with your name). A neat type of character that I'm not used to rendering but I greatly enjoyed working on this. I think the real challenge here was finding a color palette that merged well with the hues and markings of the subject; sunset colors ended up being the best choice and its just as well since they made this all the more vibrant. Scanner made some of the color transitions a little harsher than the real thing but other than that I'm thrilled with how it came out and more importantly, that the client liked it.

I'm open for ONE more slot of these PWYW ballpoint pieces before I close until the end of November. More info here!

Done on smooth bristol with various ballpoints and a yellow felt tip liner. Art rights are jointly owned by myself and the client and character is the intellectual property of the commissioner, sarineochaos.

I'm not used to working with so much pink but I have to say, using sunset to integrate that particular color makes it positively luminous.
