A trio of separate doodles I did as warmups for more involved pieces. They are a set, so I decided to cobble them together into a triptych. I was (still am) a musician, and one of the many things about music that I've found to be beautiful and fascinating are the notations. Strange, arcane glyphs that those not versed in their meaning seem like the worst kind of Greek, but when translated properly they become meter, key, and melody. Also unicorns seem to pop up whenever I least expect them, although they do seem well suited as music clefs...

All of these done in a sketchbook that is scarcely larger than 3''x5'', so they are pretty tiny. Inked entirely freehand with Staedter pigment liners.
