In all seriousness though, I'm going to come right out and say this picture was a huge success. I went into it with a few goals in mind, namely to try to raise the bar and step up my game regarding ballpoints, and to try to render depth and ambiance in an underwater scene. These goals (at least in my mind) were attained, and I'm quite pleased with how I handled the pens this time around. It didn't even take me an exorbitant amount of time after the sketch phase (I want to say about 10 hours or a little less, all told). At some point in the near future I'd like to do commissions of this variety; would anyone be interested in something like this? Naturally, the scanner made the pens look a tad rough and grainy. Apologies.
