Humanoid Gotreus by Sparkyopteryx

Humanoid Gotreus

Sparkyopteryx

I only just did this about a month ago, which was a good 4-5 months after the first two Gotreus concepts I made.... As implied by the previous concepts of him, he's actually a hydra...thing. Not fully 100% hydra, but he doesn't know what other half of his parentage is, other than it seems to be highly supernatural, possibly an elemental or spirit. He is a skilled shapeshifter, so he designed a smaller and more manageable form for relating to humanoids and other similar sapients, as well as being able to move through their cities easier (his much larger hydra form would be VERY inconvenient in those settings).

This is a little rough around the edges, but I think I did a good job with the robe and colors regardless. Wanted to keep the hues as "flat" as possible to make an accurate enough reference. Done with a Pilot fineliner, Stabilo pens, colored pencils and Prismacolor markers. Character belongs to MisterMidnight while the art and overall design are mine.

I've come to realize from him that I love designing my men as slim, fancy, and sensual.

I love his design quite a bit, I'm proud of it (and appreciate all of the help you put into it).

This guy really was a fun project to do together, and I'm still so pleased with what your result was from my words.

Fancy, slim sensual men are a bit under-apprecated but I love them. His design is awesome, and the violet/yellow combo is so striking.

It was pretty fun yeah, and it was surprisingly easy on my end. I didn't go through a ton of rejected concepts this time around haha.

Sensual men are the best men. Even Foley, who is built like a brick wall, has his attributes.

You might say he came right through some sort of gateway our minds created...

That's because when at home Foley is a mushy love sponge.

          Indeed, lol.

It's very rare to see an artist handle multiple arms so well. They aren't awkward at all and he can even caress and touch them!! Although I think my favorite thing about them is the angles he can rest them at. For instance, the lower right hand in the right most pic is just too awesome. It's almost as if they are dancing.

His hands and arms are a very important part of his design and how his character is as a whole; he gesticulates and moves them in these cryptic patterns when he's talking and even when he's not doing anything at the moment they move idly anyway. It's actually easier to read his emotions by looking at his hands than his face, ha. His arms are also basically double-jointed, so he could hold them in the strangest positions if he wanted to (and he does). So yeah, dancing is an apropos description.

Thank you very much for the comment, by the way! I always love to hear people's thoughts on mine and my partner's designs. I've always found multiple arms to be intriguing not only from a design standpoint but also as a symbolic one (such as with Hindu mythology).
