Wet Loom by Sparkyopteryx

Wet Loom

Sparkyopteryx

Those that are not familiar with
the Veil between spirits and the living
say that it is smoky, delicate
insubstantial, gauzy.

It is better described
as an ocean,
a vast, inky, roiling sea.
Something you can
drown in
as easily as you could
walk on.

And like an ocean
it holds secrets, whispers
treasures
horrors.

You don't just
stumble through it by happenstance.
You either seek it deliberately
and willingly swim through it.

Or

Your soulstrings get grabbed
pulled taut
like a writhing, struggling thread
through the eye of a weighted needle.

For there are those that would use you
to weave their sublime, bleak tapestries
to color and illuminate
the blank canvas
of death.

And thus concludes my project done as a special present for the spouse and also my last major piece for 2016. It’s as much a personal piece for me as well. Poem also written by me. Enjoy.

9’‘x12’’ Pencil and graphite powder on Stonehenge paper.

Very interesting. It is funny, I should know by now that when I see a thumbnail that looks interesting and cool, it is your work. Even the stuff I don't fav and am not that fond of by you is always worth the look!
