Character Voices (GW2, Asura) pg 1

Sparkyopteryx

I thought this would be a good exercise for me. I’ve had a write-up for a while that touches briefly on character voice, specifically how they generally sound and their vocal idiosyncrasies. Trying to tie in a bit of art as well so you can put a face to their speech (and to get the opportunity to draw less well-known characters). I’m also using the D&D system of alignment to get an at-a-glance idea of character. We’re starting with Asura and I’m doing these in batches of three or four each, starting from the top row, left to right:

Tenebra the Bat (CG)
~Bright, airy and clear. Voice always seems to have undertones of wry, good-natured humor whenever she’s content or happy.

Bibliomancer Quinn (NG)
~High and borderline-anxious and is a fast talker when focused or excited. Due to a speech impediment, stutters and stammers easily when in distress.

Second row:

Madame Hena (N)
~Distinct, charismatic, confident and oftentimes sultry. Tone becomes rapid-fire, short and commanding when issuing directives or announcing on stage.

>Doctor Leta (LN)
~Stern and calm with crisp, authoritative overtones. Is an efficient talker and never uses flowery language.

Also want to do these in bits and pieces for my Alteir characters at some point.

You did a great job reflecting their personality/speech patterns with their poses.
If only I had good recording equipment, I would love to try voicing Tenebra.

Speech pattern are always such an overlooked aspect of many characters but it's one thing that I always love developing or figuring out.
That would be interesting indeed actually! My mind always has a definite picture but to hear it from other people outside of myself trying to interpret it isn't something I never thought of until now.
