Graphite tigress piece 1 of 2 for that will be added to his ongoing portfolio project teiirkatigressportfolio that features tigresses rendered entirely in pencil. I'm honored and humbled to be a part of it alongside such amazing artists.
As with a lot of my more involved, complex pieces this one was a long time in the making, with a few scrapped sketches along the way. Something about these kinds of commissions makes me want to push the envelope of my technique to the limit, and this one was no exception. I think a lot of it comes from those clients that don't give me a deadline but instead give me as much time as I need, making it so that I don't simply "settle" for the first idea I get and instead let me tinker and refine. The results are always above and beyond expectations.
Prismacolor graphite pencils, mechanical pencil and white gel pen on 8.5''x11'' Strathmore drawing paper. I have no idea how long this took me but I know it exceeded 25 hours all told from sketch to finish.
