This particular one is just a stripped down, boring example to show their basic form. :)

Skellies are familiars that are usually created by Sumu-Ri, though there are others that can make them. They are used as helpers, guardians, and in various other ways. Once created, they are almost impossible to destroy. Only Masters can make them. Whoever owns rights to them controls them and that Skelly will follow without question.

Unless they are passed on to another when their original owners die, they go AWOL and wander around on their own. They do have their own thoughts and feelings but don’t usually express them unless given permission or they are out on their own. There have been rare occasions where a Skelly will refuse ownership of the original individual, and choose another to serve.

Even while AWOL, Skellies aren’t a threat and are very friendly. There can be cases of Corrupt Skllies but they are extremely rare and are mostly created with malice intent. Skellies that aren’t treated well can become Corrupt. Another way is if they were created by a Corrupt Sumu-Ri and instructed to complete distasteful tasks.

Corrupt Skellies are very dangerous because of the fact that they are hard to destroy to begin with. However, they mostly reside with equally dangerous owners and/or places. They are larger than normal ones and are in general more scary looking. They will have different alterations, have more horns, larger claws, and are adorn with bone/metal jewelry.

Skellies are generally smaller in size and stand on 2 legs. Their legs are hoofed and resemble goat, though that can depend on what the owner prefers. Their arms are big, with rounded paws and short blunt claws. 3 claws for each finger, but the thumb lacks one itself. Each Skellies head’s are skulls but some will have a different head style and they have no lower jaw. Some will have horns and some will not. Their horns can be bone, crystal, jelly, precious stone or metal. Sometimes the horns will be crafted and added later.

Their necks and tails are of a jelly substance that is thick and goopy. They can change the consistency from firm jelly to liquid slime and bones can be seen through it. Their jelly resides not only on their necks but also inside their skulls, thus showing through their eye sockets. The slime has a faint glow to it, giving them an eerie look at night.

I've been throwing this idea around for awhile and I'm super proud to announce them as an original species! They are part of my head world, Usar-lin (oosar-lin). I'm really in love with these guys. I hope you love them too!
