The Ravenfolk live in the deepest parts of the Vast Wastes, they use necromancy to perform rites for their dead and live a very medieval life. They "bury" their dead in above ground coffins that contain a small opening, you can use this opening to communicate with the dead and even offer them something in exchange for information on the area around their coffin. While away from their homelands, if a raven dies, they are left in their coffin near where they died. Death and knowledge are the same to them.

They are the ones who bought Virginia from slavers, raised her, and taught her necromancy.
