Not a bad year. Not a bad year at all. Last year I didn't do a summary because I wasn't happy with what I had done. This year... I didn't get to draw as much personal art as I had wanted, but that's no wonder considering how hard I worked in school. I've also animated more than ever this year, both with 3D animation and 2D animation, so on that front I learned a lot. I expect a lot to happen next year, so who knows how much art I'll make then? Either way, I suppose I'm pleased enough with this years progress. As a side note, I'm not sure if the art I used for April really was done in April (the date wasn't saved on that image). However, it was done around then, if nothing else.

I became comfortable both with traditional inking and with painting backgrounds digitally, and I discovered a few new ways to draw things. Most importantly, I learned to draw freely with little worry for the result. When I try really hard to make something look one way, the result is often stiff. Sometimes it's better to throw caution to the wind and just draw. That's when I get my best results.

Now I'm going to watch Ирония Судьбы and eat smoked salmon. Onward to 2018!
