I dunno about Robotnik, but my first thought was that it kinda reminds me of Deadmau5.

I can see where people are coming from with the Robotnik logo similarity; but when you boil it down the Robotnik logo is so damn simple that anything with a big grin and circular eyes is going to look similar. This looks neat! :D
