A species reference and full character example for an RPG I'm developing, set in my science fiction universe.

The forrul are a highly arcane-sensitive race. The evolution of their minds over many generations has developed an almost natural connection to many forces in the known universe that are still very difficult to understand. (Not that all of them have powerful abilities, just that their people are more likely than other races to be attuned to such powers.) Despite the capabilities of such forces, these "arcane arts" have, on occasion, divided their people through beliefs systems, studies, and uses. Regardless, forrul are very wise toward most other matters, and have no universal inclination toward specific non-arcane skills. Forrul are also highly recognized for their barter economy, most individuals preferring to trade goods and services of tangible value instead of reverting to currency systems.
