This drawing is the one I’m the most proud of! My father’s side of the family always make fun of my drawings because they don’t consider digital art as real art and they always say “if you were given a piece of paper and some pencil you wouldn’t be able to draw.”…I think this is the proof I actually can!

If I don’t draw a lot in traditional it’s only because of the awful quality of the scanned version; the real drawing looks NOTHING like what you see here and this makes me sick to know you’ll never be able to see it…it’s way prettier than this =( The colours and everything looks so bad here! The lyrics are also meant to be Silver and there’s golden in the wind.

Please, have a thought for all the poor innocents pencils that died for this drawing…May they rest in peace!

the feathers’ colours have a meaning! Some time ago I was bored and I found a text about the meaning of colours in feathers and I thought it was interesting:
White= purification, spirituality. Brown=health, stability, grounding. Yellow=intelligence. Red=courage. Pink= love. Gray= peace. Blue= psychic awareness. Brown and white= happiness. Gray and white= hope. Black and white= protection. Blue, white and black=change.

About the lyrics now, they come from my favourite song; Ghost of the navigator by Iron Maiden. I’ve changed some lyrics and I have only chosen some of them.
This song has always been really important to me; I’ve known it since my childhood! The lyrics always help me feeling better when I’m sad and this song helps me to calm down when I have an anxiety attack.

I also think the lyrics are more complex than they seem to be, when hearing the song most of people just think it’s about a navigator or that it’s related to the odyssey and it’s not totally false but I think the song is also a sort of metaphor of life via the sea.
The see represents our path in life, the sirens are the temptation we must resist to and we follow our path not knowing where it will really leads us but always remembering our past.

This is my first real traditional drawing!
