An amazing thing happens when you leave the flood lit streets of the city behind and spend the night in the wilderness. With a new moon and a clear sky, the stars seem to go on indefinitely. And you are left feeling so very small, but also special, surrounded by the sounds and smells of life. We are all star stuff.

This was an experimental piece, playing a bit with bringing more atmosphere into my art and limiting the colour palette. Unfortunately this was originally done completely in pastel, but when I spray sealed it some parts were too thin and were erased. I had to go back in with coloured pencil, but I think it still turned out well! I'm always learning.
