I drew this during my year living in Australia, inspired by the sense of wonder I got from hiking through the bushland, and gazing up at the thousands of stars, crowned with the Southern Cross. The waterfall is loosely based off of Jim Jim Falls, and the birds include a rainbow lorikeet and a cockatoo. The traveller is a spotted quoll.
Australia still feels like a second home to me, and it breaks my heart to see so much of these ecosystems irreversibly damaged. I mourn the people and animals that have lost their lives. Please help if you can by donating to the Red Cross or WIRES.
Originally designed for Nomad Complex, but never made it to print.
If anyone is interested in buying a print of this, I'll donate all profits to disaster relief in Australia.
