Sibir Lupus - The Guardian by Sibir Lupus

Sibir Lupus - The Guardian

Sibir Lupus

This character of mine is roughly 7 years old, though his origins and what he means to me go back to my early childhood. Who is this heroic wolf? He is me in a sense, though more accurately he’s who I strive to be. To put it simply, he is a self-made role model for me to look up to.

The form you see him in now came about at the same time of choosing the animal I most associate with for the main character (Sibir Lupus) some have come to know me as in the fandom. He is simply outfitted in a monk style robe (no hood) and wears an amulet around his neck. The amulet is of special importance as it is what transformed my mortal form into the Guardian and is also a direct link to his powers.

The true purpose of The Guardian being summoned is to restore and maintain the balance of good and evil in the world. For that main reason he is granted immortality to make it possible for him to continue that journey until the end of time. This is no easy task of course; the weight of the world’s suffering weighs heavily on his heart. While his powers keep that burden from becoming overwhelming, those powers cannot remove all of the pain or how he is affected by it. Another terrible burden is knowing that everyone he will ever love and care for will pass away some day.

His original mortality gives him strengths and weaknesses not always associated with a “supernatural being”. As you can see in the sketch above, he is standing back in the face of a great new evil before him. His confidence has dwindled, with an almost shocked expression of disbelief as he grasps the very source of his power around his neck for support.

I will leave his story at that for now. Expect to see more about him in the not-to-distant future :).
