In class yesterday I just started sketching out his parents so then I felt that I needed to finish it. xD Also another new character, who is Koumori's brother.

Kuzuri means wolverine in Japanese. Second fave animal, so is a must. xD Then his parents names are just random.

Their parents met when they were both young (Katsu age 17 and Aki age 16).
Aki was more or less wild, which is odd for an Arctic Volatikai, but Katsu ended up teaching her how to talk. But, in order for her to live with Katsu she had to have her wings removed. She was willing if it meant she could stay. The culture they live in is very against nudity, so that was the reasoning for that. She ends up liking wearing clothes a lot more than having wings anyways so it's not much of a loss to her.

They then had their first child, Kazuri. He was born with wings, so they had to have his wings removed. They didn't remove his tail, however, which is still being designed. He just had to wear clothes.
Because of his wings removal, as he gets older he starts to resent his parents and where he lives.
Koumori is born a year or so after Kazuri. They don't have a good relationship with each other.

When Kazuri is around 15-16 years old, he is caught being intimate (though not sexual) with another male. This is not allowed and is looked down upon to an almost extreme. He was given a warning, but that didn't stop him from doing what he wanted to. He was then banished from the town, not allowed to come back.
Koumori witnessed all of this and this made him almost terrified of gay relationships (even though he'd grow up liking both males and females, but he tries to hide the fact he likes males).

Before he is banished, however, he learns different sword techniques from his father. hen banished, he can pretty much be considered a "wandering swordsman" (it was a must for me, gosh).

A few years after that, their mother passes away (was going to be due to old age but then I remembered Arctic's live about the same as humans, SO IT CAN BE A DISEASE. HAHAHA )
Koumori is forced to leave, as being a half breed is still looked down upon, and that's when he heads for the village that accepts humankai/volatiman.

Stuff between all that is said is still being figured out, and things still may change.
