Yay! Another picture with a story behind it. XD Also with some more info about the Volatikai world~

Flint was born into what is pretty much a pet trade, but not exactly illegal. Volatikai are captured of all different types (if they can't speak) and are bred to make pups as pets for (mostly) rich humans. It's actually not as bad as it looks, though it's still pretty bad. Volatikai with unique markings or special "problems" are taken care of well enough so they don't become sick and die. Others may not be as lucky, as they aren't as valuable. If a Volatikai is sick enough, they (the people running the place) will put them down. Here it's desired to have mixed breeds, so that's what usually happens, and they tend to have the Volatikai breed on their mating seasons. Sometimes out of season but that's rare.
The mothers are well taken care of because they want to make sure the pops come out healthy. Once born, they'll let the mother's take care of their young until they are old enough to eat meat, then they will take them away. The more prized ones are taught some English and after about a year or two they have them up for sale. General ones are usually in groups while in their cell's, but the special ones are put alone.

Flint was one of the pups that is most desirable. Him and others that have mutations are usually sold to circuses or other oddity organizations. Flint was bought by a wealthy, overly fat woman for $10,000. Living with her he'll be spoiled and treated like both a pet and a son at times, but mostly as a pet.
While in the pet trade he didn't really see anything wrong with anything, so he's actually not sad here. He's curious. The image is of him meeting the woman for the first time. The thing around his neck is to make sure he doesn't run away from the place (it's a shock collar), but he never even tries to run away. There's a tag on his foot showing his worth, and they are told (or shown) not to remove it or else they'll get a physical punishment of some kind.

All of this isn't exactly illegal because the humans who pretty much run the whole world don't view Volatikai as the same as humans. As long as the place doesn't become TOO well known, they are free to do as they please.

I'm blanking on a bunch of other stuff I figured out for this, but I'll hopefully make that all more clear on my site whenever I get to that part. ahhh.

Also, yes, Flint holds his wings like that. He treats them like arms instead of wings. He was born without arms if you can't tell. ;P
