Vascha is a polar dalanth to be specific and they live up in the icy northern territory that is ruled over by the Itari or Ice Dragons. Vascha is a character in the book I'm writing, Reign of Ice. Following is some information about the species!

Dalanth are biologically hermaphrodites so all of them are born both male and female and do not use gender pronouns. Rather solitary creatures, dalanth stick to their own family groups which consist of 6 to 15 adult members at the most and may comprise anywhere from a few to several generations.

They can control how many young they will give birth to and can delay pregnancy for a couple months if living conditions are not ideal. Dalanth are extremely protective not just of their own babies but of other young creatures no matter what species they may be.

Not only are they extraordinarily strong, but they are also very agile. Trying to outrun one would be a serious mistake. Highly intelligent and generally non aggressive. They are strong fighters, but will not attack unless provoked and will generally seek to defend themselves first in a fight rather then take offense.

Physical features may vary slightly by region. Polar dalanth are primarily carnivores and have a triple jaw. Meaning that they have three rows of teeth. The outer row consists of large fangs meant for ripping and tearing. The middle row has smaller teeth with a backwards curve for holding. The last and innermost row is made up of smaller conical teeth made to deal pinpoint damage over and over.

All dalanth have elemental abilities that vary by region. Polar dalanth such as Vascha can summon and control ice at will and learn how to do so from a very young age.

They can also see 'aura's around others which they use to discern emotion. In other words they always know what you're feeling and they always know if you're lying. As a result dalanth never lie and do not abide by those who do. Since they can read emotions without fail this also gives them a unique and often violent sense of justice.
