Mjolnir: Howl of the North by Shingami-Zao

Mjolnir: Howl of the North

Shingami-Zao

Ahhhhh here we go.

This is my character Mjolnir, who was created as a rune wolf. His design was inspired from a couple of great people, and their original designs for Poke-hounds.

Below is a description of his character, I have yet to go back and create reference for his lower half such as his paws and what not.

Mjolnir is a Runewolf, all of the markings you see on him are actual runes from the Elder Futhark Rune System; these all stand for something (except for the one below the largest rune on his body that's purely decorative) and were used by northern tribes such as the Vikings.

His name is derived from the largest rune you see on his shoulder, which stands for "Thor" the Nordic God of thunder...in which Mjolnir is the hammer of Thor. All the markings on his body glow, and their intensity is subject to change.

His horns, tail, and body style all take inspiration from a sort of hybrid of Mightyena and Houndoom from Pokemon (I have two special friends to thank for this hybrid inspiration)

The background features tendrils of rune magic/energy in which he has some control over and can attack enemies or threats with. The Ram like horns on his head can have the points extend to great lengths in combat, and he can use them to gore enemies with also. Like his namesake he can also use some forms on elemental lightning to attack as well.

Personality wise...Mjolnir is at first what you may consider a "loner"...he keeps to himself as a wandering lone warrior and often has a serious/scowling look on his face...but this is only a facade as he feels showing his real emotions could be derived as a weakness. In reality he's caring, sensitive, loving, and protective of the people he admires or cares about.

I was really nervous about getting everything right and giving it that "feral" feeling...as a guy who's drawn DBZ stick figures since the longest time I was not sure on how this would turn out...but I hope it's up to community standards. Hope you all enjoy~
