Kinkao Scholar by Shark-Butt

Kinkao Scholar

Shark-Butt

This is a doodle i did yesterday because i was sick of drawing bugs bunny all day (animation class), so i doodled a little kinkao to take a break and this was the result :B

The Scholar is a tier 2 job and is in the "pure" magic class line, in other words this class focuses 100% on magic rather than trying to branch into one of the other class trees. This means that the pure classes are very good at what they do, but they can't do as many things as a hybrid class can.

Scholars are kinkao who have dedicated all of their time and effort into studying magic using various tomes and grimoires that can be found across amara, written by wise and respected magicians and wizards from throughout time. It's rumoured that some rare books were even written by angels and demons, and fewer still written by the gods themselves... It is every Scholar's dream to be granted access to the royal palaces arcane library and be taught by the court wizards there, who are some of the most well-learned wizard's in the whole world.

In combat, Scholars use the arcane information inherent within their books, as the fact that the books were written by such powerful people means that they contain a certain amount of power themselves, scholars can use this to amplify their own abilities and cast powerful spells, using the books pages as a casting surface. However, in close-quarters combat scholars become almost useless, as their melee and physical defense are quite mediocre in comparison to that of either the melee hybrid or ranged hybrid tier-2 classes.

Scholars who train enough can eventually earn the right to join the more powerful pure magic classes such as Warlock and Praefactor which are specialised magic users using either black or white magic exclusively, or the wizard who can use both black and white magic but not to as much of a degree.
