This is my final concept art for the three main races that you will find on Amara, showing their height relevant to each other and average human height. You pick from one of these races at the beginning of the game (either male or female), which also dictates what you will specialise in as you play.

The first and most populous race of Amara are the Kinkao, which are little cat-like humanoids. Originating in the land of Tamal, they have spread completely throughout Amara and it is a Kinkao king that sits on the throne and rules over all of the people of Amara. Kinkao themselves are lithe and cheery little creatures, stereotypically quick to trust others and always eager to do the next thing. They are exceptionally skilled at magic and are quite speedy, mixing with their size to make them hard to hit, although, they can't generally sustain much damage in combat before they become incapacitated, making them ideal as mages, however they can become quite skilled with weapons if they so please, and kinkao knights and swordmasters who use powerful magic to augment their attacks or create wards are not uncommon, though those who dedicate their lives to the pursuit of magic become beings of almost unsurpassable power, able to cast spells that can shatter bone with a simple glance, all while bypassing the regular system of having to use glyphs and gestures.

The second race, also hailing from Galaya, though this time originating in the far north of Maralei are the Aleust. These hardy folk live in mountain villages and prefer the colder areas of the world, you would be hard pressed to ever find an Aleust in Tergei, that's for sure. Aleust are sterotypically quite cold and can be hard to get along with, almost making it seem like they have taken on the personality of the mountains they call home, though they are exceptionally loyal if you manage to male friends with them. Aleust are Very sneaky and thus make excellent thieves and other such sneaky characters, however they are also naturally exceptionally very good at archery, picking a bow over a sword on most days, though Aleust can make rather excellent assassins at close or long range. Aleust who train in magic can use strange illusionary magic which is unknown to even the greatest of kinkao wizards, allowing them to make people not notice them or persuade them to do something i subtle ways, on the other hand, they can become powerful long-range support, using lightning bolts as arrows.

The final and by far the tallest of the three races are the Grua, huge hulking Lizard-people with thick scales covering their body who come originally from the land of Tergei, their tough hide capable of resisting the harsh desert atmosphere. They stay mostly within Tergei, however many of them have spread into Galaya making a thriving Gruan community in the warmer lands such as Eroy and Arvai, though it's very rare to see a Grua anywhere north of Tamal. Grua have a reputation for being quite shady and disreputable, making excellent bandits and highwaymen who use their size to bully the much smaller races into giving up their possetions, which is becoming quite a large problem throughout Galaya, though the majority of them are absolutely decent and friendly people, though their personality is stereotypically quite short-fused and volatile. Their large forms and thick armoured skin make them excellent melee fighters, using large weapons and powerful swings to carve up their opposition, though Grua who invest in learning some magic on the side can become a truly terrifying opponent in battle.
