I kind of felt like drawing some Halloween themed art, and plus I was pumping out art nonstop like a machine lately, so here's Knuckles The Were-Echidna! Munching on a rawhide bone thingy, vegetarian of course. Oh, and yes I painted the moon too, I didn't just Google an image and throw it on the canvas.

Fun fact: Way back when Sonic Unleashed was announced and I saw the teaser trailer and commercials, I thought it was going to be a game about all of the main cast becoming werebeasts and that the game itself was going to be some kind of wolf pack simulator with Sonic Adventure-style gameplay. When the game was released and I found out that only Sonic would undergo lycanthropic transformations and Knuckles was nowhere to be found, I was disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game and I enjoyed it a lot, but it would have been so much cooler if everyone became werebeasts, and maybe a fight scene or two where Sonic and one of the other characters are battling over who's alpha?

There is a transformation webcomic somewhere online where Knuckles does undergo lycanthropy, probably he and Sonic got into a fight prior and Sonic bit him I think, but I don't know why everyone else shapeshifts. This image is somewhat inspired by said comic, although despite his intimidating look, my version of Knuckles The Were-Echidna obviously means no harm. I don't like how it was implied that all of the characters were unintelligent upon transforming and therefore a threat. It kind of demonizes wolves a little bit. 

The weird thing about this game is that... Technically Sonic wasn't a werehog at all, but it seems Sega didn't like how "Sonic The Il-wolf" sounds. (A werehog would be a human shapeshifting into a wild pig.)
