Star mice are small interdimensional beings. Much like mice squeeze through small holes in walls, starmice squeeze through small rips and tears in space to visit other worlds and dimensions.

They can adjust their size accordingly, but their default size is about 3 inches tall.
The stars that they are named for are actually little symbiotic creatures that hover around the star mice. Their appearance is dictated by the energies of the star mice. How many they have in combination of the size determines how strong they are which effects things like... how long they can stay at a larger size as well as determine special inclinations or abilities. The stars glow and emit light in most cases.
Multicolored stars are rare, with the standard usually being a single color, two colors being uncommon, with increasing rareness from there. There is also the occasional Void star mouse, whose stars don't emit light but rather absorb it creating small voids of light where they are located.
Starmice come in a wide variety of colors and personalities, but they tend to be observant, and travel and explore worlds. Starmice will sometimes make a connection with someone on a certain world or dimension and decide to stay with them for an extended period of time!
