Minis-Hordes-Snap Jaw by Segremores

Minis-Hordes-Snap Jaw

Segremores

Agro and I play a game called Hordes made by Privateer Press. Hordes is sort of like Warhammer or Warhammer 40K in which you buy models, assemble them, paint them, and then pit your army against another's. My all-time favorite army so far are the Gatormen who are like swamp-dwelling witchdoctors.

This model's name is Snap Jaw!

Model was assembled and painted by yours truly.

Holy crap, That is badass. I've always been curious in trying out games like this.

Ahh, what a cutie! I think I remember seeing this guy or one of his friends at the game store and wanting to do something with him for 40k or D&D (more accurately, probably just wanted a reason to buy a fat alligator model). I love his nose ring. :>

The paint job is really good. Good job nailing those little teeth, especially. Did you do the base yourself or did it come with that? The water effect is great.

      Aww thank you!

All of what you see is painted by me, the water effect was also done by myself. However, I had the benefit of Secret Weapon Miniatures for the base. Here's their website: http://www.secretweaponminiatures.com/
They're my go-to people for creating weathering effects, bases for minis, etc. Plus the price point is super nice. :)

        Excellent! Is the water resin?

I got some bases from that site at some point! They have some good ones. I wanna grab these and paint 'em up all fleshy and gross for my Chaos Daemons: http://www.secretweaponminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=79_2_5&products_id=303

Yeah, I think the 'water' is a one-step pourable resin. Vallejo and Secret Weapon Miniatures both make their own brand of it which works. If you decide to try it out for yourself, be very careful because the stuff could pull up and crinkle if you apply too much of it at all at once. Think layers is best. :)

Nice! What scale are these on, anyways? Also, I kinda wonder if maybe minimizing the watery effect on the model itself might have made it a tiny bit more effective, maybe just along the underbelly or the back.. though the light may have just gone kinda supernove gloss on it with the picture :D

Oh no, he's glossy on purpose. In the game that he goes with, there are certain models which are designated "Amphibious." On those models, I put a gloss coating on them to make them easily identifiable. :)

The scale is 30mm, though this one in particular is a 50mm
