What? You're telling me you never seen a demon before?

It doesn't look lik-

Anywaysssss.... IDEAS AND CRITIQUES AND ANATOMY SUGGESTION PLZZZZ!

Oh I should probably tell what I drawing in the first place.

Well since in Hell no one is happy (yes, even Satan is tortured for his misdeeds. IT IS HELL! NO IS HAPPY IN HELL! PAIN AND MISERY FOR ALL WHO HAVE FORSAKEN THEIR SAVIOR!), I decided to make some very unhappy demons.

Also, Silent Hill and The Suffering had awesome monster designs, created to disturb both the mind with their horrific symbolism and the eyes with their grotesque shapes.

So one day it came to me... what should a demon look like if they live in a place of fire and torment. Then I went off track from there and I thought what if the tortured become the dreadful demons, losing all their faith and humanity?
So I went and doodle some random doodles on my old DS.
And thus one of three Hells was born.
Oh yeah... I thought o three different Hells, but that another story.
The realm of fire and pain is what I call Pyros, which what exactly most people think of when they picture Hell.

Most demons there are based on various torture devices and executions.
Here's one of them.
Say hello to the Splitted Knight.
He is based on the Spanish Donkey (aka The Wooden Horse), a painful torture device. (And a Wiki page to feed your brain and nightmares: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wooden_horse_(device) ).

His source of pain is actually a sentient wooden horse. As a punishment for his misdeeds, he to forever feel the pain of his body being split apart. Now he lost all that made him human, he has become a very vengeful demon. His jousting rod and shield are actually NAILED TO HIS ARMS (because stop the torment at his chest?).
You could say he's a twisted parody of a jousting knight, and you would be right.

Now as I much I love drawing this... I hit a bit of a wall. I don't know what to do with the shield design.
I could use a few tip or advice or suggestion on coloring and anatomy.
