The Veln are the foremost purveyors of magical items and artifacts on Osmoze. Most of these items are of their own make, as the Veln have the strongest natural connection to magic known, even over prime dragon species.

Veln are an occasional sight in many large, transitional cities, such as the bridge city of Sheph, where the markets and magic schools are many, and always in a group of no less than two. The Veln are grouped into clans, identified by a mark on their face, their homes typically cities made within one of the Shah desert's immense gaping caves, buildings formed from the inlaid calcium and mineral deposits, in much the same way as one might scupt clay.

While they're happy to share their magical knowledge with the world, the subject of Veln reproduction is a subject that has eluded researchers for millenia. No Veln males or children have ever been observed, not even deep within their cities, if they even exist at all. Since Veln are hardly modest, it's proven that they at least have the parts. The theories have been myriad, from the mundane to the wishful.
