Jock, of the King's Own Scottish Borderers by Scott Ruggels

Jock, of the King's Own Scottish Borderers

Scott Ruggels

This is the first of a possibleseries of the Uniforms of WW2. This is Jock, of the Kings Own Scottish Borderers. This was a very respected and decorated regiment during World War Two. He is dressed as any British Soldier would be at the time, with P37 Web gear, a No.4Mk.I .303 Calibre rifle, and his "Steel bowler" (Helmet). World War Two is a subject of endless fascination for me. Originally done for a re-enactor buddy of mine. The Unit, the Kings Own Scotch Borderers Were one of the units included to defend France in the initial emergency, and were sent over in 1939. A bit chewed, they were evacuated at Dunkirk. They returned to France, on D-Day, at Queen beach. Some of them became Glider troops and with the First Airborne Army, were sent into Holland in September of 1944. Jock is how the troops would have looked when sent over in 1939.
