Blackout is small for a pegasus stallion, and not the strongest or fastest or smartest by a long shot. Given his special talent, he's a decent weatherpony. However, where he really excels is in carrying out tasks silently. Where many pegasi are built more for strength or speed and have wings similar to those of an eagle or falcon, Blackout's are wider and softer, much more akin to those of an owl. While this would seem to make him ideal for tasks that require secrecy, his inability to speak. along with his other shortcomings, necessitate teamwork. Most of the time, simply finding somepony who is less specialised is easier, and Blackout remains content with his work as a weatherpony.
