Born to a dragon father and a human mother after a secret relationship, Hexan is destined to be king. But after his father's marriage to a dragon queen, his brother is born and inherits the crown, as is his right as the true heir.

However, Kit doesn't want the crown, and Hexan takes it out of duty once his brother abdicates. Then, working together, they both rule the kingdom, with Kit as the true diplomat and his charismatic brother at the head of the country.
