This Light Morph Sub Adult Swainson's Hawk was spotted at Fairfax, KS on 8/22/2015 with it's mate nearby. (I assume their mated and not siblings) I have been seeing these Swainson's Hawks around here for years but kept on misidentifying them as Red-tailed Hawks. But while I was here watching this year's airshow these guys were going crazy and were very vocal about the planes intruding their territory. Simply put they wouldn't stop screeching. The way I was able to identify them as a Swainson's Hawk was the telltale bib on this bird's mate. I further verified the spotting by the call. Also realizing that this is a Swainson's Hawk I look back at a Photo I took in 2011 where one of these guys were photo bombing my shot of an Extra 300s during that year's airshow.
