Breaking the Grade

Like many college students, Sasha didn't sign up for any fitness courses until her senior year. However unlike many college students, she had failed her fitness class spectacularly. As for the reasons why...

First off, she had gained quite a bit of weight since first entering the class. She had originally weighed somewhere around 350 lbs, but by the time final exams came around, her weight had sky-rocketed up to an unknown number. I say unknown because the gym's scale only went up as far as 600 lbs. Sasha's gluttonous eating habits may have been the cause of such rapid weight gain.

And secondly, at the beginning of the semester she had to go through a small obstacle course so as to determine her overall physical fitness. She completed the obstacle course in about fifteen minutes. It wasn't the best completion time ever, but it was considered acceptable. At the end of the semester, she had to go through the same obstacle course again to see if she could finish it in less time. If there was any improvement in her time, she would have received a passing grade. Unfortunately, it took her over an hour to finish the obstacle course and because of that, she received a failing score. The extra weight she was retaining must have slowed her down considerably.

Now, since Sasha wasn't able to pass her fitness course, she'll have to do one of two things. Either a), take the course again and work hard so as to improve her final grade or b), take an extracurricular activity and substitute it for her fitness course. Knowing Sasha and her tendency to avoid hard work, she'll most likely take an extracurricular activity. Well, I hear the Debate Team has a few openings. :)
