Blind Date (1 of 6)

SatsumaLord

8:15; that was the time. “She’s two hours late.” Travis thought to himself while looking at his watch. He started to become irritated over his predicament. The first date he had in nearly six months was late and probably never even going to show. “I can’t believe Hank convinced me to do this.” Travis muttered softly. He could’ve been working on his next novel, but he decided to follow Hank’s advice and go out with this girl that he set him up with. He guessed Hank meant well, what with the fact that he’s his best friend and all. But Travis started to wonder if this blind date was a good idea. “I’ll give her 15 more minutes” he thought, “then I’ll just leave and go back home.”

While waiting, Travis started to become nervous about this woman he was supposed to be meeting. Hank told him that she was a friend of a friend and that he’d know her when he saw her. But other than that, he didn’t have much to go on. He also had a name, Nina Thompson, but that wasn’t much help either. He was supposed to meet her outside in front of a place called Yoshikawa’s, a semi-fancy Japanese restaurant. People were required to wear something formal in order to actually eat there. Travis just wore a gray suit with a red tie. It wasn’t really fancy or anything but it was enough for him to get inside and eat if he ever chose to.

Travis also started to wonder what this Nina girl would look like. He hoped she would be a tall vixen of some kind, not very tall but maybe a few inches taller than him at the most. Travis also hoped she would have a sweet personality as well as a good sense of humor. Of course, it would also be nice if she was big in the right places. Not overly big mind you but at least enough to give her a slight hourglass figure. He also imagined her having long, flowing blonde hair with lustrous green eyes. He closed his eyes and turned away from the restaurant door. He started to dream about her appearance, but before he could really get into it, he heard a soft, gentle voice behind him. “Um…excuse me. Are you Travis Jackson?” Whoever she was she must have been his date. The way she spoke implied she wasn’t from around here. Maybe she was British? Anyway, that didn’t matter. With Nina still behind him, Travis turned around while speaking, “Yeah, I’m Travis. It’s a pleasure to meet…” He couldn’t finish his statement. The sheer shock caused by her appearance rendered him speechless.
