the koi pattern was working well but too complicated for redoing over and over and especially with my limited time budget these days. also the redesign was a bit... well too good. kept hankering for the old coloration, so a compromise of sorts was made. 

kept a bit more of the old colours, removed the koi pattern and went for a false sakura style pattern with a modified french lis looking design
