The tears were still in her eyes as she hugged the tattered hide tightly to her body. They'd given her nothing before throwing her out save the bruises, a parting gift from the stones they had thrown.
She had found the hide amongst the dessicated remains of an old cart, long stripped of anything useful. It was more holes than leather, but still it was better than nothing.
She cries silently, wishing for a storm, anything so she could voice her anguish, howl out her grief. She gently strokes the soft pelt, wrapping herself fully within its warmth, letting the rage swell within her. She smiles, humming softly as she stands, and stretches languidly. Her claws glide effortlessly through the thick fur as they slide along her sides. Violet sparks dance as her hooves strike stones, igniting the brush with unearthly green flames. Her shrieks echo for miles, signaling her presence to all. She is ruination, the harbinger of death, and she has just begun.

This is my entry into lord-of-chimeras:'s Echidna Dress contest~ I chose the Crommyonian sow to pattern my dress off of, and a bit of a story to help with the image~ When I first saw this contest, this image popped into my head, and I had to draw it~ Rather than make a dress you could remove, I felt that a dress that was permanent would be the better option~ And then I went all out and tried my hand at a background! I really have a hard time with backgrounds... mostly because I can never think of a background to draw. I had an image of just that character; more or less floating in a void, and that's usually how any of my ideas for drawing are~ I'm not sure why this is, but I have begun to browse landscape images in hopes of maybe giving me some future inspiration~

Subject: Echidna Spawn Dress
Story: The spawn of Echidna (Orthrus, Hydra, Chimera, Caucasian Eagle, Crommyonian Sow, Cerberus, Colchian Dragon, Teumessian Fox) have been slain and only their hides remain... but being children of a goddess, they are far from dead. A naive girl recovers one of the hides and makes herself a dress out of it, she notices something is wrong after she starts to wear it, but it is too late... the dress won't go off anymore, and then she is changed by it... she is taken over by it... her eyes now look like the ones of a wild beast, as she grins with newfound malice
